DIEGO XAVIER

I am a 22-year-old Salvadorian who has a deep passion for sensory experiences. From the sound of music to the taste of food, the sight of photography, and the beauty of design, I love immersing myself in the world of senses.
As an avid traveler with a bit of wanderlust, I enjoy exploring new places and cultures, letting my curiosity guide me. When I'm not wandering, I love creating sensory experiences for myself and others, whether that's through designing a new website, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, or curating the perfect playlist. Overall, I am a Salvadorian who finds joy in wandering and wondering, and I'm always on the lookout for new experiences and opportunities to create and inspire.

Spotify Case Study

Spotify, the most popular music streaming to date, has two customers who directly compete with each other. On one hand you have the artists who make a living by selling their music at a fair price, and then you have the user who wants access to any music they want and pay the least amount possible for it. A fair compromise between the two measures Spotify’s success. In this case study, I will focus on the user’s perspective and interests. Firstly I conducted my own research and assumptions, then I used surveys and user interviews. After gathering all the data, I created some wireframes on what the application would look like with the new features.

Design

Over the last few years, I've designed several posters for friends and parties. Currently, I'm leading the design strategy and concept for a project called Fifth Element (@byfifth.element on Instagram), which promotes local art and hosts house music events. In addition to designing, I also handle event operations, such as assembling equipment, coordinating with liquor and equipment providers, and managing speakers and lights.

3D Modeling

The world of 3D modeling is a recent addition to my creative toolkit, which has opened up new avenues for me to explore and expand my creativity and curiosity. My preferred tools for this endeavor are Blender and Unity.
The following are slideshows of some of my works.

Photography

Photography has enabled me to develop a sixth sense that helps me to capture fleeting moments. I find pleasure in seeking out symmetry in my photographs, as it brings a sense of order and balance to the often chaotic scene behind the how and why of the image.

Music

My music taste is definitely eclectic, influenced by my old man who taught me to appreciate various genres.
I enjoy using DJ controllers to curate "sets" for different occasions.
On another note, I recently collaborated with two friends to launch an Instagram page (@drgroovezzz) where we showcase DJ sets from around the globe, complete with artist details, song tracks, and location information. We aim to introduce people to new music and artists.
Additionally, my Spotify and Soundcloud account is attatched at the bottom for those interested.

About

I am a Salvadorean, interactive design student at George Washington University with a minor in computer science. As a designer, programmer, and photographer, I am constantly looking for ways to expand my experience in environments where I can both learn and contribute.
